Typhoon "Meihua" Hit, ROC Took Various Measures To Against Typhoon And Flood


With the formation of Typhoon "Meihua", and gradually getting close to Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, ROC each department, jetty and slipway are facing the major test of flood prevention. To tide over the typhoon, ROC immediately launched emergency plan, and strengthened guard.

 

Typhoon and flood control headquarter, which took GM Mr. Shao Xiwu as the first responsible person, hold an emergency meeting in the fastest time. The meeting called for the protection of staff safety as the first priority, and required to ensure the absolute safety of ROC staff and property. It also emphasized the key elements, cleared responsibilities and division of labor, and made all-out preparations for flood control.


The emergency team went to the production site to closely investigate and eliminate security risks. The production maintenance department reinforced and cleaned up the cranes, lifting machines, temporary sheds, and advertising signs, etc. The production department reinforced the mooring vessels at the wharf with ropes and required foreign vessels to enter the harbor and anchor. The support staff timely closed all office doors and windows, cleaned up debris, and repaired in advance. Each project team stopped all high altitude work, lifting work and Limb operations. Meanwhile, open flame outdoors is forbidden to avoid fire accidents. The command center paid attention to the weather changes, typhoon and flood development trend in real time. Flood control and risk aversion information were sent to the construction line through multiple channels at the first time.

Before the typhoon came, all teams had done a thorough job in prevention, which resulted in a safe, stable and controlled process and no loss of personnel or property.

 

In the process of typhoon and flood control, the command center, emergency teams and all departments deployed quickly and efficiently, and strictly followed the meticulous and practical response measures. All ROC leaders and staff spared no effort and made concerted efforts to devote themselves to the anti-typhoon and flood control work, which fully showed enterprise spirit of “rose to the challenge and dare to take responsibility”. It greatly encouraged the morale of employees, and helped build a wall of iron for ROC’s safety development.
