Monopile is the most commonly used foundation type for offshore wind turbines in the world, and has been widely used in built offshore wind farm. Diameter of the monopile is 6~10m, and the length is about 100m. A large hydraulic pile hammer is used to drive monopile into the sea bed. The upper part of the monopile is connected with the tower by flange and bolt. Monopile is suitable for shallow water depth of 10~30m or medium water depth of 30~60m, which can be used in WTG with various capacities.
