Lately, ROC carried out a comprehensive emergency drill themed by “Focus on fire safety, and ensure high quality development” for N1045 Project in jetty . ROC General Manager Mr. Shao Xiwu acted as commander and organized this drill.

The drill simulated deck supplies of the N1045 project were set on fire by vandals, which ignited the surrounding combustible materials and caused the fire and smoke to spread rapidly. After the fire was discovered by staff on the board, the project safety supervisor immediately reported to the emergency command, initiated ROC's comprehensive emergency plan, dialed "119" for alarm, and reported to the relevant department of the industry. The project security team carried out initial fire fighting and evacuated people on board to the open emergency assembly point in jetty by means of hand alarm and manual evacuation. The anti-terrorism and riot team took anti-terrorism and violence prevention measures according to security rules for port facilities, and arrested the saboteurs.

ROC’s volunteer fire brigade came to the scene and quickly started fighting. The safety evacuation group, anti-terrorism and anti-riot group, rescue and relief group, emergency response group, medical support group and communication liaison group immediately carried out fire fighting and rescued for the injured according to their respective tasks. After half an hour of fighting, the fire was successfully put out and the trapped were safely rescued. The drill was a complete success.

Fire safety responsibility is weightier than Mount Tai. In the next step, ROC will further carry out the fire publicity work, and combine with the current "119" fire publicity month activity to improve the importance of fire hazard investigation and rectification, so as to form the situation that "everyone receives fire education, everyone strengthens the prevention awareness, and everyone has the basic common sense".
